Little Happies -- A His & Hers Sunset

Heyo!

I just so happen to be on a mission trip with my youth group right now (no big deal)! Me and the husband, 17 teens, and a handful of adults, helping people in need all around the city of Toledo, OH. It's called Catholic HEART Workcamp and it's fantastic. We departed on a big ol' coach bus Saturday evening, drove through the night, and arrived in Toledo just in time to party it up, Catholic style.

So, how am I writing this post, you ask? Well, I cheated a little and pre-wrote it on Saturday night before taking off. But you don't mind, do you? You also don't mind praying for my little youth group, do you? For our safety, for the teens to grow closer to Christ throughout the week, and for the people we'll be serving. Many thanks, friends! I'll be sure to do a trip recap upon my return.

You also don't mind that my Little Happies are a bit short this week, do you? I've been a little distracted with trip prep, after all, which has gone off without a hitch (thank you, Lord)!

This week's one Happy is brought to you by both me and my husband and one gorgeous sunset...

Stephanie's perspective:

Johnny had a tough evening at work, so I knew a little distracting and joyification were in order. We went for a walk around our apartment complex and headed toward the little lake in the back, which is always a peaceful delight. Much to our surprise, we found the complex had recently put a bunch of adirondack chairs in a row facing the lake. So, we found two without any bird poop on them, plopped our bums down, and soaked in every last second of a perfect, cotton candy sunset, free of charge. We found our evening joy, and only steps from our front door.

John's perspective:

Sometimes you don't need a beach.  Sometimes, all you need is an early-June 8pm, a great adventure buddy, and the knowledge that in a little while sleep awaits you after a day of Making Stuff Happen.  Just enjoy the light show while you've got it, and don't wish to be anywhere other than where you are right now (it sure does help when right now looks like this).
